Nowadays, people put more emphasize on teamwork no matter at school or at the company. Therefore, I consider that possessing the ability to work with others as well as to lead a team is considerably important. As a result, I chose the class —— Becoming a Successful Leader —— to polish up my skill of teamwork. In the first class, the teacher, who owned a plenty of practical experience of working in international companies, shared his thoughts and experience with us. He pointed out the abilities that we should acquire the abilities such as how to clearly interpret our ideas and make a well-organized speaking. “Were it not for the advanced speaking skill, I would never be able to convince others to follow my guide, not to mention leaving a supreme impression on my co-workers or clients.” he said. Subsequently, he gave everyone the syllabus of this class and briefly explained the activities and exams that may be included in the following courses.
Thanks for a series of lectures and discussions in class, I broadened my horizon and identified my weakness as being a leader. Since our group took turn being the group leader, I got an opportunity to experience the difficulties that a leader may encounter. Also, we tried to overcome those barriers based on the knowledge we learned in class. In addition, seeing others’ leading styles, I could appreciate of the advantages of them and become a more competent leader. In conclusion, the importance of being a leader can never be underestimated and the class equipped us with abundant useful abilities that last forever.
